About
I am a seasoned designer based in New York specializing in footwear, handbags and accessories. I believe that good design, like good art, must be visually appealing and strike a balance. Whether it’s coming up with a novel approach to a classic silhouette, weighing the trade-off between function and aesthetic or designing high fashion at an affordable price point, good design finds a sweet spot across many constantly competing elements. I believe in quality above all else, and understand the importance of fit and comfort. My mission is to create, and bring a brand or idea to life through thoughtful, refined design.
As a 4th generation artist, I was naturally interested in art and design at an early age. I became drawn to fashion in high school, and enrolled in a fashion illustration course at Parsons School of Design. I was hooked, and realized my passion for footwear when all my sketchbooks began filling up with drawings of shoes! After high school I moved to London to study at Central St. Martins and Cordwainers, London College of Fashion where I received a BA with Honors in Footwear Product Design and Innovation.
After college I returned to New York City, and over the past 15 years I’ve worked with a multitude of brands including Calvin Klein, Steve Madden, Vince Camuto, Sam Edelman, Nicole Miller and Schutz, among others. While at Schutz, I was tasked with revamping the product line to appeal to the domestic market as part of the company’s U.S. launch. The success of the new collections was recognized and Schutz was awarded “Brand of the Year” at the Footwear News 2016 Achievement Awards.
I’m currently looking for new opportunities to further develop my career and welcome collaborations, consulting work and design services (whether freelance or full-time), if the shoe fits!
